It really was. It was a bit much. Not way too much, but a bit. Granted I have seen only a tiny fraction of the movies of 2005, and I know nothing about how the awards are decided, but please.Beth Loves Bollywoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05540154833326987567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-1143025107451635532006-03-22T04:58:00.000-06:002006-03-22T04:58:00.000-06:00Beth, I thought - I know I'm going to be shot down...Beth, I thought - I know I'm going to be shot down for saying this but I will say it anyway - Black was a little over the top. The idea was great but the execution was a little too flamboyant for my taste. The acting was good of all the actors, no doubt about that.Accidental Fame Junkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15925822190194449730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-1142270477014386922006-03-13T11:21:00.000-06:002006-03-13T11:21:00.000-06:00How funny that you posted on Black! I was just thinking about it this morning while I was getting ready for work.

I absolutely LOVED the lush cinematography BUT as a fan of the Helen Keller story, (I've seen about 3 different versions of The Miracle Worker), the first half of the film seemed old hat to me. The second half was uncharted territory. I look forward to seeing more of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's work.t-HYPEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12754869629100022097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-1142226716275138052006-03-12T23:11:00.000-06:002006-03-12T23:11:00.000-06:00Black was an extremely overpowering movie for me. ...Black was an extremely overpowering movie for me. I came out of the theatre in a daze. In addition to the terrific acting by Bachchan Sa'ab, Rani, and Ayesha, the whole atmosphere conspired to make it an emotionally draining experience.Obi Wanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12869654369117007928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-1142125123400818552006-03-11T18:58:00.000-06:002006-03-11T18:58:00.000-06:00P.S.Beth, I skimmed through your film index and no...P.S.

Beth, I skimmed through your film index and noticed Muqaddar ka Sikander wasn't on there. Rani Mukherji in her best role, ever. Amitabh...what can I say? It was great to see him do something different from the typical roles he's been playing since he came back from retirement.Raja Pakistanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17642671394981218245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15977843.post-1142001336149070112006-03-10T08:35:00.000-06:002006-03-10T08:35:00.000-06:00Yes, Black is certainly beautiful! This film is eas...Yes, Black is certainly beautiful!
This film is easily a milestone in Bollywood's history.
